Look, I'm a 46, nearly 47, year-old Dutch woman, and I built this website because I'm fed up with seeing our local European economy struggle. I'm a carer, I've got autism and dyspraxia, but that doesn't stop me wanting to do my bit. For ten years, I've volunteered at our local repair café, fixing things up rather than chucking them away. I still reckon repairing, reusing, and recycling is the best way forward.

But, let's face it, sometimes you've got to buy new. And when you do, buy local. Support the people who make things properly, here in Europe, not some factory miles away. We need to know our goods are made under decent conditions, and we shouldn't be relying on stuff being shipped halfway across the world.

The way things are going politically, it's vital we strengthen our European manufacturers and makers. We're seeing medicine shortages, markets flooded with cheap, shoddy imports – it's all down to losing our own production. When companies go, so does the know-how.

This website is my small contribution. I hope it helps our makers and workers thrive. It's about building a stronger, more resilient Europe, one local purchase at a time. We've got to look after our own, and do our bit.
